Christ University, formerly known as Christ College, is a Deemed to be University in Bangalore, Karnataka. Established in 1969 by the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI), it was granted Deemed University status by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in 2008 and later elevated to the status of Institution of Eminence (IoE) by the Government of India in 2018 — one of only 20 institutions in India to receive this distinction.
